Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is a regulatory feature introduced by PTA allowing subscribers to retain their mobile phone number when switching from one cellular network operator to another. Because of MNP, a phone number with a 0300 prefix (originally allocated to Jazz) might currently operate on Zong or Ufone. Real-time active routing confirmation requires live carrier-authorized network lookup.
